These are incredibly comfortable, warm, and have nice traction for winter weather! I just received these so I can’t speak to the long-term durability yet. Based on other Sorels I own I have high hopes. Like other Sorels, these run a bit on the small side (I usually wear a 1/2 size larger in Sorels and sized up a full size in these to accommodate wool socks. I have a narrow foot and Sorels fit me great. The toe box is pretty narrow too — works for me but probably a challenge for someone with wide feet! Some photos made it seem like the upper section is a slightly different color than the lower, but in person, the color is uniform, at least for the camel brown. Sorels are worth the money — great traction on snow / ice, waterproof, and pretty indestructible. I have not been kind to my other Sorels (I live in the mountains and spend a lot of time outdoors) and they still function perfectly and look great!I bought these in my usual size (8.5) despite others suggesting to go up. I’m glad I didn’t because they are perfect as I will be wearing them barefoot (I wear high heels at work and honestly the extra effort of socks just for the drive to work isn’t worth it). The toe box is very hard and sturdy. The rest of the boot is relatively soft and pliable. I am a bit disappointed in the lack of arch support but can fix that with an insert. The “Major” color is brownish (on the foot/toe part) and brownish gray (ankle part). I’m was very confused about the difference between Major and Quarry. I wanted whatever was more gray and still can’t tell if Quarry would have won that contest.I bought a pair of the camel colored at Cabelas (bc I could try them on in person) and WOW did I love them so much that I had to order this black pair on Amazon. They are perfect for a casual outfit on a cold snowy day because they are:A) SO comfortable. I have walked a very long time in them.B) Extremely warm - my feet NEVER get cold in them.C) Stylish, not too big, perfect with a pair of jeans and a sweatshirtD) Easy to slip on!E) Waterproof, so easy to grocery shop, walk through parking lots etc. when running errands with lots of snow on the ground! In the winter jeans and a warm sweatshirt is my typical go-to when running errands, but tennis shoes are often not sufficient, and a more regular / dress boot doesn't look right, but these are the perfect balance of stylish, casual and yet practical.I feel I can count on the Sorel Brand ! I live & work in a Western Mountain town, Sorel has a variety of styles, booties, tall boots .& some are lined. They have good soles, treads for all types of weather & surfaces. I dress them up & down. The arch gives good support & the heels are comfortable & I can easily work in my specialty shop for 8 hours.I am so pleased with these boots. They were comfortable from the start and I can work in them all day. I do happen to stand all day for my job, so this factor is very important to me. Yes I do recommend these boots. These boots are beautiful and fit well. I wear a 7.5 and once my foot was in they felt great: like a good pair of leather boots that would break in nicely BUT... with my high arch, they are not easy to get into. Also, The first pair ordered had a bad odor from the tanning process; the second pair only on the right foot had a rough inside edge at the heel; a thicker sock may have compensated but I prefer no sock or just a thin sock so sadly a no go. Also, had I wanted to wear a thicker sock I would have had to order a size up.This is my second pair. I like the boots but they do run narrow. I have to get a whole size larger to fit my foot correctly, but then it does leave too much room in the toes. These boots are just what I need for a winter trip to Europe. They are stylish, fit according to size (7M), are toasty warm with the fleece inside, and very comfortable (plenty of arch support). The quality is very good for the price. I have no problem with the slanted zipper as I intend to keep them fully zipped. Rolling the top to create a fleece border that is flat was difficult for me. The snap makes it uneven when rolled or perhaps I didn’t do it correctly. Great boots. After reading a number of reviews I was tempted to go up a half size but then decided to order my usual UK size 5. I am glad I did, whilst they were quite tight to put on at first, the length of the foot is just right and the half size bigger would have resulted in my foot moving back and forward when walking. Wearing a thicker sock would have been fine but that would have made them even tighter to put on and off. Lovely and cosy inside and hopefully they will be as waterproof as claimed, but cannot comment on that yet. Looking forward to wearing them on my dog walks. This is my first pair of Sorel boots and after reading other reviews I decided to go up to a size 6.5 from my usual size 6. I'm glad I did as although I think a 6 would have fitted, they would have been very snug and I wouldn't have been able to wear chunky boot socks with them. I've only worn them outside a couple of times so far but they are very comfortable, warm and seem totally waterproof - having splashed through a couple of puddles to test! I would definitely recommend these boots, to me they seem like they will last well so hopefully will be good value for the money.Sorel is true to size. The unfortunate thing was after reading all the reviews here and on google, I bought half a size bigger, which is much to my regret after a week of wearing it. The sole comfortable but could be improved. I now ended up having to put an insole. The foot bed in Sorrel a bit narrow. If you have to buy this pair, you need to measure your feet well and look at the chart here.Lovely boot.ideal for a winter break im taking but came up a little narrow on the foot and quite tight to put the foot in at first.Started walking around in them and there is quite a bit of give thank goodness.Very warm on the leg with the fur. These boots are so cosy and stylish too, nice calf height. Im normally UK size 6 and bought a 6, they felt too snug at first but after wearing twice they are perfect size....just needed to be worn. Will be wearing these a lot....and considering buying the black pair too.
